Connecting the past with the future

Hey this is Vickie Wilkins, Director of Alumni Relations. I am honored to share this story with you! A few weeks ago, I received this message to the TU Alumni Facebook page from a mother of an incoming student.

“Hi! My daughter, Alison Stephens, will be attending TU this fall and we have been on a search to find pictures of my dad when he went there. His name was Frank Charles Dominick. He would have been a business or maybe accounting major. And I think he would have graduated somewhere around 1971. He unfortunately has been passed away for 18 years. My daughter never got to meet him and so we are both hoping to find a connection to him there at TU for her. Any information you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you!”

I was on a mission – connecting a past Dragon with a future Dragon – I just knew I had to find something for this family. I had to find pictures of Frank. After digging through some old yearbooks I am happy to say that found several photos of Frank that I was able to share with the family.

Frank Dominick was a 1971 Tiffin University alumnus with a bachelor’s of commercial science in higher accounting. He was a member of the TU bowling team, “Pirates”, and was a top five bowler for TU.

Alison, incoming student for the fall 2019, will be studying managerial studies.

I am overjoyed that I was able to find these long, lost pictures for the family and for our incoming Dragon, Alison. For her to feel a little connection to her Pepaw, Frank, means so much to me. This is why I feel so honored to do what I do. It is my job to build lifelong relationships with our alumni (and their family) in support of Tiffin University. In my work, I hope to maintain history and traditions as well as secure a bright future for TU. With students like Alison, Tiffin University’s future looks bright!
