Jordan Davis to Speak at Tiffin University on Career Design and Innovative Teaching

Tiffin University will welcome Jordan Davis, an educator, writer, consultant and international speaker who specializes in inclusive teaching and student success to campus on Friday, March 28. Davis will present two keynotes tailored for students and faculty.

At 11 a.m. in the Heminger Center, Davis will present “Eliminate ‘Career Anxiety’ Through Design Thinking” to students. College students have more career options than ever before, and even more factors to consider when making their career decisions. This session aims to help students design their professional lives after graduation using design thinking.

At 1 p.m. in the Osceola Theatre, located in the Gillmor Student Center, Davis will deliver “Pedagogical Excellence in the Modern Academy: Wellness, Equity and Technology Literacy as the New Core” to faculty and staff. This keynote will explore how faculty’s views on educational technology – like generative AI – ultimately affect the rigor and inclusivity of their instruction. He will unpack the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind creating classrooms that promote well-being, equity and technology literacy.

Davis is the founder of JD Speaks LLC, an educational development company through which he helps schools, universities and national organizations deliver engaging curriculum for learners.  Since 2019, he has worked with over 25,000 students, educators, professional staff and school leaders, ranging from intimate workshops to keynotes for some of the world’s largest education organizations. He holds a master’s degree in learning, design and technology from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in communication from McDaniel College.
