Pregnancy & Parenting

In alignment with Tiffin Universityโ€™s commitment to a policy of nondiscrimination, the Office for Title IX & Civil Rights works to prevent sex discrimination and ensure equal access to educational opportunities for students and employees who are pregnant or experiencing related conditions (pregnancy, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, and recovery therefrom).

  • Nadia Lewis
Vice President for Human Resources and the Center for InterculTUral Excellence
    Deputy Title IX Coordinator
    419-448-3433, lewisna@tiffin.edu

When an employee is made aware that a student is pregnant or experiencing related conditions, they should:

  1. Provide the student with the Title IX Coordinatorโ€™s contact information โ€“ inform the student that the Title IX Coordinator works to prevent sex discrimination and ensure equal access to educational opportunities. The student may schedule an appointment with the Title IX Coordinator to discuss support services available to them, if they choose.

  2. Notify the Title IX Coordinator โ€“ email the Title IX Coordinator OR fill out the third-party referral form (below) to provide the name of the student who is pregnant. Upon receiving notice, the Title IX Coordinator will reach out to the student to offer the opportunity to meet to discuss support services available to them.
