Virtual Women’s Leadership Conference

The 2021 TU Women’s Leadership Conference will take place virtually on Wednesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. This year’s theme, “Taking Care of the Whole You: How to Live a More Balanced and Meaningful Life,” will focus on strategies for achieving health and wellness.

The conference will explore the seven dimensions of wellness: intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, occupational, emotional and environmental (adapted from Princeton University’s UMatter Initiative). Participants will self-reflect on the dimensions of wellness, troubleshoot challenges and create an action plan with steps they can take toward healthier habits and better well-being.

“As we adjust to the new normal, self-care has never been more important,” said Vickie Wilkins, Tiffin University’s Director of Alumni Relations and conference Chair. “When we met as a committee, we kept going back to the idea of ‘total wellness’ and how important, especially given the times, it is to take care of the whole you. I hope this year’s conference empowers women to overcome their obstacles and become the best versions of themselves.”

Although the conference is virtual, it will mirror the structure of the traditional seated conference. The agenda includes a keynote presentation by TU’s President, Dr. Lillian Schumacher, and small group breakout sessions for intimate, guided discussions. The annual Each One, Reach One Award will also be presented. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary engagement in facilitating leadership development for women.

The event is limited to the first 200 registrations and is open to students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members. To register, visit tiffin.edu/WLC2021. Participants are encouraged to take the Princeton UMatter Wellness Self-Assessment before attending the conference. The assessment will be used for self-reflection and in-depth discussion in the breakout sessions.
